College Park Real Estate Information

College Park is bounded by the QEW on the South, 16 Mile Creek on the West, Upper Middle Road on the North, and Trafalgar Road to the East. There is a wide variety of homes located in College Park from Townhomes which over look Lake Ontario, 1950's bungalows, to high rise condo's. Homes in this neighborhood range from $200,000 1 bedrom condos to multi-million dollar mansions. The area was developed in the 1950's right through to the 80's. A number of the homes have been fully renovated, or replaced. This area is also home to Sheridan College, Oakville's fashion mall "Oakville Place", and the exclusive private "Oakville Golf Club".

Demographics for College Park

The residents of College Park are made up of three distinct groups: Solid Citizens, Comfortable Nests, and Suburban Contentment.

Solid Citizens are married wieghted towards couples between 45 to 59. Their children are in mainly in highschool. Education is important to these residents with the majority holding either college certificates or university degrees. They are a very hands on community enjoying repairing and building their homes. These residents are very practical. The area in which this group lives is west of 6th line.

Comfortable Nests are 55 plus empty nesters. They have owned their suburban homes for years, and have little debt and comfortable secure investments. Until this point, their lives have  been focused on raising their family with little "me" time. They are active and deeply enjoy being with their families. These residents live east of 6th Line and south of Ridge Road. This area is going under significant transition, with many of the homes recently changing hands. These homes are demolished or complete renovated attracting a much younger buyer.

Suburban Contentment residents live north of Ridge Road and east of 6th Line. This community are primarily married between the ages of 30 to 44 and are just starting to have children. The area's homes are townhomes, semi-detached, with a few detached as well as apartments. Both parents work and are college and high school graduates. They are savers, and this is accomplished by doing household projects themselves, taking their lunch to work, and in general watching what and where they spend.

Transit for College Park

Public Transit is provided by Oakville Transit. College Park residents who use the GO Train, access it via the Oakville Station, which also has a VIA Rail stop. This area has excellent access to the QEW, and the 403 and 407 are accessible.

Schools for College Park

Montclair Public School - Kindergarden to Grade 8

Sunningdale Public School - Grades 1 to 8 French immersion

White Oaks Secondary School - Grades 9 to 12 including French immersion

Residents of College Park are also served by the Halton Catholic School Board as well as Oakville's numerous private schools. For the youngest residents there are plenty of excellent daycares to choose from.
